No splicer needed
Crews work without splicing equipment and the training it requires; the connector is completed on site with housing and latch.
FTTH connector system ELC / ESC
The mountable FEMOtech connector system based on LC and SC is blown in, pulled in or pushed in and makes the splicer obsolete. More connected homes per crew, with standard equipment.
The FEMOtech system consists of fiber optic connectors based on LC (ELC) and SC (ESC) that install without splicing: cable and connector are blown in, pulled in or pushed in; distances above 300 m are achieved through a microduct of 7 mm outer / 4 mm inner diameter. The system serves network levels NE3, NE4 and NE5, from the exchange into the home.
Why splice-free
Crews work without splicing equipment and the training it requires; the connector is completed on site with housing and latch.
Termination, grinding and polishing of all connector types work with standard equipment.
Cable and connector travel together, over 300 m through a 7 mm microduct.
ELC and ESC mate with standard LC and SC adapters: multimode, singlemode and APC.
Variants

The ELC uses a ceramic ferrule of Ø 1.25 mm per DIN EN 61754-20 and comes as multimode (128 µm, beige), singlemode (126 µm, blue) and APC (125.5 µm, green), each also unsprung (UF, sprung counterpart required).

The ESC uses a ceramic ferrule of Ø 2.50 mm per IEC 61754-4 and is equally available as multimode, singlemode and APC with the standard housing colours beige, blue and green.

Proof in motion
The connectors based on LC and SC (ELC/ESC) are blown in, pulled in or pushed in together with the cable and then simply completed with inner and outer housing plus latch. No splicer is needed; that saves installation time and cost and raises the number of connected homes per crew.
For NE3 (fiber to the building), NE4 (fiber to the home) and NE5 (fiber in the home): a continuous fiber link from the exchange via the distribution point into the apartment. Background in our article FTTH network levels NE3 to NE5.
Blowing distances above 300 m are achievable through a microduct with 7 mm outer and 4 mm inner diameter.
No. Termination, grinding and polishing of all connector types are possible with standard equipment; the assembly instructions are available as a PDF.
ELC (LC based, ferrule Ø 1.25 mm) and ESC (SC based, ferrule Ø 2.50 mm), each as multimode, singlemode and APC; the ELC additionally unsprung (UF). The full values are in the specification table on this page.
